Job Description:
We are looking for multiple Site Engineers at all levels from 2+ years’ experience to 10+ years’ experience to help support and deliver a number of major projects within the civil engineering, infrastructure, groundworks, foundations and RC structures sectors.
Due to a significant increase in contracts awards and workload, a dedication to continued profitable, long-term growth, and a commitment to progressing talent through the business, our client is now seeking to appoint a number of experienced Site Engineers of all levels.
The Role
- Overseeing and supporting all site setting out activities, including managing surveying equipment, checking drawings and setting out information, producing and compiling as-built drawings and records, liaising with clients and other contractors, resolving technical issues, monitoring of works, and quality control requirements on site in accordance with specifications, whilst working to the highest of HSEQ standards at all times
- Provide total site engineering expertise for all assigned contracts and projects
- Analyse and interpret specifications, designs and drawings to accurately exact out on site as required
- To ensure that all works are deployed effectively, economically and in accordance with all appropriate regulations and specifications, which will allow the company to minimise risks and maximise profits on contracts
- Provides guidance to less experience staff
- Complete QA documentation and record keeping
- Implement ITP requirements
- Production of method statements or understanding of how they are produced
- Temporary works understanding and if applicable take on the role of a TWS/TWC (you do not have to be a certified TWC)
- Understanding of materials and plant including call off schedules
- Aware of site HS&E procedures
- Understanding design team responsibilities and roles
- Interaction with commercial teams to understand cost outputs on projects
- Working with planning and quality teams
- Ability to work with teams on the various systems being utilised
The Person
- Preferably (but not essentially) educated to HNC / HND level in an industry relevant discipline (construction, civil or geotechnical engineering etc)
- A minimum of 2+ years’ and up to 10+ years’ site engineering and setting out experience, spread across numerous projects and sectors
- The ability to assess, analyse and interpret designs, drawings and specifications
- Excellent organisational skills
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with exceptional levels of attention to detail
- The ability to work on your own initiative, as well as in a team environment
- A sound knowledge of various civil engineering, infrastructure or RC frame – structures techniques
- An understanding of the general sequence of site events
- The ability to apply the knowledge and principles of site engineering and setting out to a range of projects
- A good working knowledge of construction related plant, equipment and materials required on site
- Possessing the ability and aptitude to deputise for on site if required
