Job Description:

This challenging and exciting opportunity, based from home or any of the company’s network of offices closest to your home location, requires an individual with a technical background from the civil engineering, construction, structural or geotechnical disciplines but also with proven experience in taking the lead for sales within the retail and consumer sectors.

Due to an ambit to diversify their core markets and a dedication to continued profitable and long-term growth across the UK, our client is now seeking to appoint a Director of Commercial Sales. Reporting to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will have responsibility to increase EBITDA of the business by growing the top line sales and gross profit, covering their core service offerings as outlined above, specifically aimed at the online retail, supermarket, warehousing, distribution, fashion, and consumer goods clients.

You will be committed to hard work and high performance, and motivated by personal success, progression, and increased earnings. Internally the role serves to coordinate and synchronize your external client development and contract growth opportunities with customer service staff and operations teams to ensure optimal performance and project delivery.

Key Tasks

Developing sales, business, clients and contract award opportunities specifically within the above-mentioned sectors
Continuous regulated actions to ensure consistent increase in conversion percentage in quoting and order intake
Daily business development and technical problem solving jointly with operations teams for appropriate scope definition
Pricing and profitability analysis, and action planning to ensure financial goals are achieved
Building business with relevant clients
Liaise with operations teams to ensure project installation and delivery as per specifications, and feed continuous learning between sales and operations
Keeping updated with the latest market developments, competitors, customer needs and consumer trends
Working with marketing teams on planning of promotional and marketing activities, and guiding product marketing

The Person

You will possess a good level of qualification in a relevant field (Civil, Construction, Structural, Geotechnical) or be suitably qualified through experience
You will possess a demonstrable track record of experience in a similar role developing a sustainable business revenue stream withing the aforementioned sectors
Our client wishes to appoint a technically competent individual with strong hands-on experience of sales or pre-construction within the civil or structural engineering sectors
