Job Description:
This challenging and exciting opportunity requires an individual with a strong technical background and demonstrable experience in the facilitation and planned co-ordination of QA activities for sites and projects from within the utilities, power, energy, construction or civil engineering arena.
Due to the company’s continued ambitious growth plans and a significant number of recent contract awards, our client is now looking to appoint a QA Advisor who shall form part of a specialist HSQE team and be responsible for quality assurance management, processes, and systems. The role will identify end to end quality-related processes required to capture key activity milestones and implement process controls across project delivery activities to allow our client to provide an industry leading service to their customers’, ensuring that requirements are delivered effectively, accurately and efficiently.
The QA Advisor will be required to develop suitable monitoring and measurement procedures to identify non-conformances, develop documented instructions to enhance and improve current delivery models and to measure the compliance of works against relevant standards and customer specifications. Therefore, ensuring that our client continues to meet its customers’ expectations and complies with its ISO 9001:2015 certification. As part of this role, there will be a requirement to travel to all areas where the company is delivering projects to inspect works in line with developed quality assurance procedures.
The Role
- Developing documented control processes to ensure customer standards, specifications and requirements are met in accordance with ISO9001, enhancing the existing quality assurance documented system to reduce errors and or filings
- Assist in the development a complete training plan to improve and standardize training requirements across each business stream and reduce costs through better planning or more effective use of service providers
- Progress, maintain and support any new competency and skills matrix
- Auditing and inspecting all project activities and QA systems
- Assist the team to ensure that all targets and KPIs are achieved
- Ensure that QA procedures are being adhered to, are fit for purpose, and assist in reduce non-conformances and promote continued improvement and excellence
- Undertake audits and inspections in accordance with the audit programme and maintain the internal audit programme and associated documentation.
- Attend and participate in meetings, presentations and deliver toolbox talks as required
- Assist in all external audit support and administrative support where required
The Person
- Procedure/process writing
- Identification of critical paths and resolution processes
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal

- Excellent attention to detail
- Good working knowledge of quality assurance systems, quality control flow charts and be familiar with the respective IT software systems to produce them
- Capable of working independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge, experience in the utility industry
- Internal / external audit experience
- Electrical/Gas/Water/Civil construction experience
- Develop and write QA procedures, flow charted instructions
- Knowledge of OHSAS18001, ISO14001 and ISO9001
- Full UK driving license
- Experience of developing and delivering presentations to managers, industrial and supervisory colleagues
- Good team working – leadership and time management abilities
