Job Title: Engineering Geologist

Job Description:

Due to a significant increase in workload, our client is seeking to appoint an Engineering Geologist to join their expanding management team. The role of the Engineering Geologist is to supervise site / project work activities, undertake logging and in situ testing, and assist in the formation, collating and reporting of factual data.

 

The Role

 

  • Communicate with the client, Senior Engineers and Contracts Managers daily
  • Completion of engineer briefs, and fieldwork briefs as required
  • Daily checks to ensure that all deliverables have been received
  • Ensuring that field teams provide deliverables to agreed timescales and that contract related administration is submitted on time (logs, lab tests, factual reports etc.)
  • Ensuring all company policies, procedures and SHEQ standards are met and recognising where improvements / efficiencies can be made
  • Daily communication and support to the Site Engineers / Contracts Manager, including site attendance and liaison with laboratories (internal and external)
  • Completion and submission of site visit records where necessary

 

The Person

 

  • Educated to degree level in an Earth Sciences or Environmental Sciences related discipline
  • Previous experience in site investigations or exploration geology
  • Commercial awareness to allow the review of tender documents and production of tenders
  • Ability to write factual reports
  • Ability to schedule laboratory testing, liaise with the testing lab on progress and understand the principals of the test results
  • You will be an ambitious and career driven Engineer, who is hardworking, and able to lead and manage projects and site delivery teams
  • A financially astute and commercially minded individual with technical awareness and understanding
  • A good communicator, capable of delegating tasks and negotiating in fast-moving situations
  • Individuals who understand the need to deliver projects to deadlines, safely and on budget
  • Excellent organisational skills with clear written and verbal communication abilities
  • The ability to work on your own initiative and in a team environment
