Job Description:

Our client is proud to be one of the UK’s leading Geotechnical & Ground Engineering contractors. Due to a significant increase in contracts awards and workload our client is now seeking to appoint a Senior Setting Out Engineer whom will be accountable for all site related activities, and offer total support to the Project / Contracts Managers to allow for the safe, timely and profitable delivery of works / schemes. 

This challenging and exciting opportunity, requires an experienced Senior Setting Out Engineer offering expertise gained within the construction / civil / structural / geotechnical engineering sectors. 

This is seen as a great opportunity for an individual possessing a proven track record of site engineering, setting out on site, strong organisation and communication skills, and a good overall level of engineering expertise. 

The Role

• Overseeing all site setting out activities, including managing the surveying equipment, checking drawings and setting out information, producing and compiling as-built drawings and records, liaising with customers and other contractors, resolving technical issues, monitoring of works, and quality control requirements on site in accordance with specifications, whilst working to the highest of HSEQ standards at all times
• To provide total site engineering expertise for all assigned contracts and projects
• To analyse and interpret specifications, designs and drawings (produced using AutoCAD) to accurately exact out on site as required 
• To interpret client requirements, thus ensuring that the correct activities and methodologies are being applied on site
• To ensure that all works are deployed effectively, economically and in accordance with all appropriate regulations and specifications, which will allow the company to minimise risks and maximise profits on contracts

The Person

• Preferably (but not essentially) educated to HNC / HND level in a relevant discipline, such as construction, civil and / or structural engineering, or geotechnical engineering 
• A minimum of 5+ years setting out experience, spread across numerous projects / sectors
• The ability to assess, analyse and interpret designs, drawings and specifications via the use of AutoCAD
• Excellent organisational skills
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, with exceptional levels of attention to detail
• The ability to work on your own initiative as well as in a team environment
• A sound knowledge of construction techniques and the general sequence of site events for a wide variety of contracts, schemes and projects
• The ability to apply the knowledge and principles of site engineering and setting out to a range of projects
• A solid understanding of construction related plant, equipment and materials required on site
