This specific division is one of the UK’s leading geotechnical and heavy civil engineering contractors, renowned for providing technically advanced and cost-effective foundation / ground engineering solutions. Their reputation is built on engineering excellence and a commitment to continual innovation, backed by a central technical design and engineering resource, they can deliver the full range of foundations, groundworks, site remediation, piling, geotechnical and structures techniques.
We are seeking an Estimator with extensive experience in the piling, foundations and / or ground / geotechnical engineering sectors. A large degree of work/life flexibility is provided by our client for this position.
The role will be to provide accurate and efficient cost estimates for projects across the UK. The main responsibilities will be to produce complex tenders, bids, proposals and quotations associated with all aspects of a variety of contracts. This will include co-ordination with clients to carry out high level estimates in order to produce a truly engineered solution, whilst ensuring that proposals meet statutory legislation, regulation and client specification.
The primary responsibility is to lead, develop accurate and timely estimates, and submit competitive bids and proposals for the company’s clients
Produce and submit accurate quotations with associated evaluation data for bids, proposals and tenders
Analyse and interpret detailed client requests, drawings and specifications
Determine and price value-engineered alternatives to plans and specifications
Utilising all aspects of your expertise to submit bespoke bids and proposals to clients
Attend pre and post tender bid meetings with clients and their representatives
Work under deadline pressures in an efficient, composed and calm manner
Assist the Piling business sector as a whole to meet their financial targets
Help to identify and develop potential new opportunities for work
Help to identify new suppliers / sub-contractors to improve safety, performance and profit

The ideal candidate will be a confident and self-motivated individual with the ability to be innovative, whilst still being able to follow and improve set processes. You must be hard working and possess a proven track record within the piling, foundations or ground / geotechnical engineering
sectors. You must also demonstrate the below;
Able to identify the requirements of projects
Accurately prepare quotations considering all costs associated with the delivery of projects
Provide detailed hand over project files to the Project Management Team to allow for the successful delivery of contracts
Correspond and negotiate with clients, suppliers, contractors and colleagues
Able to manage situations when workload presents conflicting demands on time availability, thus demonstrating an ability to effectively prioritise and schedule
Able to monitor progress and implement controls to ensure tasks are achieved to time cost and quality
Develop and select effective solutions to problems and any associated risk
Communicate facts, ideas and proposals to others in an effective and persuasive manner
Apply HSE and Welfare policies and procedures
Work with others to develop a wide array of knowledge and skills throughout the team
Deliver efficient and effective client service at all times
